Some thoughts

I finally got my frame back from the welder so i can start building my dream chopper.

I'm also becoming a master in using paint (LOL) to vizualize my thoughts.

This is how she is probably going to look like when i'm finished. The color will be a dark metalflake brown ( Rootbeer ) with AMF style yellow/orange striping. Seeing her like this i'm thinking to change the rear wheel to a 18 inch en adding a king queen seat instead af the current 16 inch en solo/p-pad setup.

First mock-up after welding. Everything fits like it did and the frame seems to be as straight as an Arrow.

In the mean time i'm also becoming a true bondo guru in the proces of finishing the gastank for the other bike.

On her own wheels.

Finally she is standing on her own two wheels. Just a few hours of labor and she is finished. Just in time though. I ran out of welding gas when I tried to reinforce some welds. 

I'm going to move to the other side of the country in a couple of weeks. Until then no further progress. Hopefully some progress once i'm settled.

Welded the lower frame tube today.

Next up; Figuring out the new connection between the backbone and the rear engine mount. After that it should be a smooth ride to copy al this to the other side. Hoppefully I have a full roller by the end of this summer.

Beat it

Beating the seatpan in to shape. Slowly getting in to shape. In the meantime I'm also working on a mini- flakegun. No luck there yet. 

New seat pan and frame progress

Started working on a new seat pan. 

Seat will be al little bit longer en narrower. I will try to make the tuck and roll upholstery myself. 

Also pre-fitted the lower frame tube. It still needs a welding tab on the bottom before welding but she's getting there. 

Hopefully I can finish it up this weekend so I can start on the other side. 

No progress this weekend

Did some maintenance on Lucy this weekend. Fresh plugs, oil, battery and some other small parts. Also rearranged te shed a little bit. 

The project is still in need of some serious attention. Hopefully tomorrow or next weekend.
